When I came to the Reckless Saints, I had finally run out of excuses and run out of myself. I thought alcohol was my biggest problem, but the truth was I had spent years trying to be my own savior. Reckless Saints didn't save me—Jesus Christ did. But God used this ministry, its leaders, and the men around me to point me away from myself and back to His Word. They taught me that lasting freedom isn't found in willpower or self-confidence, but in daily surrender to Christ.
Today, by God's grace, I'm sober, employed, and living with purpose. More importantly, I've developed a hunger for Scripture and a relationship with Christ that has become the foundation of my life. I still come back because someone invested in me when I desperately needed it, and I want to do the same for the next man. If I could tell every new guy one thing, it would be this: don't make the program your hope or sobriety your identity—make Jesus Christ your everything. Programs end, feelings change, but Christ never does. To God alone be the glory.
